2009 marks HwangDBS Investment Management (HwangDBS IM) eighth year milestone. In the short span of time, we have grown our assets under management (AUM) by more than 280 times, from a mere RM20 million in 2001 to RM6.4 billion as at 31st July 2009.

In tandem with the financial growth, we have also established ourselves as a strong and reliable name in Malaysia. In five years we have progressively expanded our capabilities to manage both corporate and retail funds. Currently in our stable are a total of 40 unit trust funds, five (5) of which have been recognised by global rating agencies and international publications for their consistently outstanding performance.

The dynamics of our vibrant financial industry are indeed challenging but with the added staff strength, talent and the support of our parent, Hwang-DBS (Malaysia) Berhad and our Singapore asset management partner, DBS Asset Management Limited (DBSAM), we are indeed well positioned to meet changing needs of marketplace and diverse client base of differing risk appetites.

As we step into the fourth quarter of 2009, HwangDBS IM is certainly looking forward to the opportunities ahead.
