Kuala Lumpur, 25 October 2007 – HwangDBS Investment Management Berhad (HwangDBS IM) sponsored four HELP University College (HELP) Business Studies faculty awards during the HwangDBS Scholarship & Annual Academic Awards 2007. The awards include a RM10,000 scholarship to Mr Tan Jie Yi, who will be completing his final year at the Department of Business Studies. The scholarship was awarded based on the student’s academic qualifications, extra curricular activities and economic needs. Meanwhile, Mr Ti Seng Aun, a second year student, won the RM1,000 HWANGDBS Merit Prize and two book prize awards were given to Mr Lim Tzin Siang and Mr Chin Ru Chi each.
“The HwangDBS Scholarship is part of our on-going effort to ‘give back’ to the society we operate in. We also believe in doing our bit in cultivating young talents to help secure the future of Malaysia’s human capital,” said Mr Teng Chee Wai, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of HwangDBS IM.
HwangDBS IM started out with the book prize with HELP in 2005. Since then, they have conducted talks at the University College, organized internship programs, company visits, and now, the award of an annual scholarship.
