Over the years we have expanded our stable of funds to encompass a host of products across different asset classes such as conventional equity, fixed income, balanced, bonds; global equity and property as well as Islamic equity, fixed income and balanced funds. In addition to the retail and institutional unit trust funds, our services for the institutional and high net-worth individuals comprise the management of institutional client mandates, cash management services, corporate advisory as well as client servicing. Below is the comprehensive list of our funds, of which 5 have been recognised by global rating agencies and international publications for their consistently outstanding performance.
Equities Funds
The HwangDBS AIIMAN A20 China Access Fund (A20) aims to provide exposure to the 20 largest Shariah-compliant China A-share companies, in terms of their market capitalisation, listed in Shanghai or Shenzhen Stock Exchanges. Being a Wholesale Fund in nature, it is open for sale to Qualified Investors only.
The HwangDBS Global Growth Allocation Fund (GGA) is an equity growth type fund that aims to provide medium to long term capital appreciation for Investors with aggressive risk profile. GGA invests primarily in Collective Investment Schemes and other securities such as listed securities and structured products.
The HwangDBS Global Emerging Markets Fund (GEMF) is HwangDBS IM's third feeder fund and the fifth in their global fund series. Launched on 11 January 2007, GEMF is targeted at investors of a higher risk appetite and wish to participate in the booming global emerging markets. The GEMF seeks to take advantage of the current hidden potential in these young, burgeoning markets.
Our second global fund, the HwangDBS Global Opportunities Fund (GOF) is also of the feeder nature into DBS Asset Management’s award winning Shenton Global Opportunities Fund. GOF is targeted at investors of a higher risk appetite seeking to leverage opportunities presented by sustainable global themes. GOF also provides further diversification into the global market scene.
Mixed Assets Funds
The HwangDBS US Access 80 Fund (US Access 80) is a mixed asset growth type fund designed specifically for investors who seek capital growth through exposure to the S&P 500 Index and have moderate risk tolerance. US Access 80 is an open ended fund that aims to provide capital appreciation through exposure to the S&P 500 Index while endeavouring to preserve a minimum of 80% of the Fund's highest NAV achieved, observed on a daily basis.
The HwangDBS Global Financial Institutions Fund (GFI) is an open-ended growth fund with a limited subscription period of two(2) years. The GFI aims to benefit investors via potential capital appreciation through investments in securities of global financial institutions. GFI is designed for investors with an appetite for edgier and unconventional "flavours".
This is our first performance-based fund, the HwangDBS Absolute Return Fund II (ARF II). The ARF II seeks to achieve medium to long-term capital appreciation by primarily investing in securities of developed and emerging markets globally. ARF II is suitable for investors who have a medium to long-term investment horizon, are risk tolerant and seek higher capital returns for their investments.
This is our fourth fund for 2007, the HwangDBS Indochina Fund (IndoCF). Available for the first time locally, the IndoCF presents local investors with an exciting and compelling investment proposition, access to Vietnam’s fast-growing economy. Now, investors will have the option of investing in a piece of the booming Indochina pie.
Income Funds
The HwangDBS Structured Income Fund IV (“StrIF IV”)is a close-ended income fund that aims to provide regular income distribution over a maximum investment horizon of three (3) years. Being a Wholesale Fund in nature, it is open
for sale to Qualified Investors only. StrIF IV is expected to invest a minimum of 95.0% up to a maximum of 99.80% of its NAV raised during the Offer Period in an onshore Structured Product issued by a locally incorporated financial institution.
The HwangDBS AUD Income Fund (AUDIF) is an mixed-asset (open-ended) income and growth type fund which will will invest primarily in Australian fixed income instruments and money market instruments that provide regular income as well as in high dividend yielding Australian stocks to enhance income and returns to the Fund.
The HwangDBS Fixed Maturity Income Fund II (FMIF II) is a close–ended bond fund with a maturity period of 3 years. FMIF II aims to provide regular income distribution throughout its tenure. It is suited for investors who seek regular income distribution, have a short to medium-term investment horizon and have low risk tolerance.
The HwangDBS Fixed Maturity Income Fund I (FMIF I), is ideal for investors who seek regular income distribution, have a short to medium term investment horizon and have low risk tolerance.FMIF I invests primarily in foreign and/or local sovereign issued bonds, private debt securities, convertible bonds and other fixed income instruments.
Global Alternative Assets Funds
The HwangDBS Environmental Opportunities Fund (EOF) is a global equities growth fund that focuses on green investments, in particular, renewable energies, water and waste management. It is externally managed by European environmental investment specialist, BNP Paribas Asset Management (a member of the BNP Paribas Investment Partners network).
The HwangDBS Global Commodity Fund (GCF) is the first-of-its-kind unit trust in Malaysia. Feeding into the Schroder Alternative Solutions Fund, the GCF has primary exposure to commodity futures, offering investors a closer link to the commodities industry. This all-in-one fund is also an ideal alternative investment for portfolio diversification as it invests directly into 3 main broad commodity sectors namely Agriculture, Metals and Energy.
The HwangDBS Global Infrastructure Fund (GIF) is Malaysia's first global infrastructure unit trust fund. Externally managed by leading global infrastructure specialist, Macquarie Alternative Investments Limited (MAIL), the GIF offers local investors a unique and contemporary investment alternative into an asset class previously not available locally.
The HwangDBS Global Property Fund (GPF) is HwangDBS IM's flagship global fund. The GPF caters to investors seeking offshore exposure in property related investments. The fund is of an alternative asset class that is essential in a well diversified investment. GPF is a feeder fund managed by Urdang Securities
Management, Inc. domiciled in the State of Pennysylvania, USA and is designed for investors of medium risk appetite who wish to receive regular income and potentially higher returns than fixed deposits.
Capital Protected Funds
The HwangDBS Tactical Opportunity Capital Protected Fund (TOcP) is a closed-ended fund that seeks to provide capital protection and capital appreciation over a maximum horizon of five (5) years. To achieve its objective, a minimum of 85% of
the NAV of the Fund will be used to purchase instruments such as negotiable instruments of deposits and a maximum of 10% of the NAV of the Fund in derivatives in the form of an OTC option that is linked to the performance of the Basket and the 3-Month Australian Bank Bill Short Term Rate (3MABBR).
The HwangDBS Global Financials Capital Protected Fund (GFCP) is a three (3) years Capital Protected investment opportunity that aims to provide investors with potential income distribution and capital appreciation from the exposure to a basket of selected global financial stocks. The GFCP provides an ideal combination of defensive and aggressive strategies that is suitable for investors with an appetite for safer and conventional "flavours".
The HwangDBS Asia Aspire Capital Protected Fund (AACP) is our flagship fund for the year 2008. It is a close-ended 30-month, capital protected investment opportunity that may potentially allow investors to benefit from the booming aspirational spending by Asia's rising middle class. AACP is ideal for risk adverse investors seeking for capital growth with short term investment horizon.
HwangDBS IM's 4th capital guaranteed fund: the HwangDBS IM Guaranteed Fund (IMGF) has a 5-year tenure and is ideal for risk-averse investors seeking capital preservation and the opportunity to achieve potentially better returns than fixed deposits. A portion of IMGF will also gain direct and indirect exposure to high growth economies like China and India to achieve capital appreciation.
