Launch Date 08 January 2007
Investment Objective The Fund aims to provide capital appreciation by investing in a Sturctured Product linked to the performance of a basket of up to three (3) global banks stocks whilst seeking to provide capital protection.
Asset Allocation Up to 97% of the capital raised (before deducting the sales charge) during the Offer Period is to be invested in a Structured Product issued by HSBC Bank and linked to a basket of up to three (3) global banks stocks. The balance of the capital raised (before deducting the sales charge) during the Offer Period will be held in the form of cash and other liquid assets to meet the Fund's operating expenses and payment of the sales charge to the Manager.
Investment Strategy To achieve the objective of the Fund, up to 97% of the capital raised by the Fund during the Offer Period will be used to buy an onshore Structured Product issued by HSBC Bank. HSBC Bank in turn wil invest these moneys in some financial instruments in which it considers to be sufficient for protecting the capital of the Fund; these instruments could take the form of money market instruments (which generate income on a short term low risk basis without affecting capital) and / or fixed income instruments (which are brought at a discount to provide a nominal value equivalent to the capital sought to be protected at maturity).

Part of the Structured Product investments will be used to purchase over-the-counter options, which provide exposure to the performance of a basket of up to three (3) global banks stocks, namely HSBC Holdings plc, Citigroup Inc and Bank of America Corporation. The objective is to achieve capital appreciation via this exposure. However, the Manager may, at its solde and absolute discretion, vary the basket of the global banks stocks as it deems fit. Any such variation will be communicated to the Unit Holders pursuant to Section 10(ii).

Global banks are financial institutions that provide a range of servies that include corporate, consumer, and private banking, capital markets, custody, investment banking and other related services. Their geographical reach spans the world, from the developed to emerging markets. fundamentally, global banks are strong and have a proven, long-term track record in assets and earnings growth, and have large stock market capitalisation.

The remaining investment in the Fund, which is not invested in the Structured Product, wil be retaind by the Fund in the form of liquid assets to pay for the expenses of the Fund.

Investors' Profile The Fund is suitable for investors who are risk adverse, seeking for capital protection and growth on their investment, wishes to participate in the potential upside of global banks stocks and have a short-term investment horizon.
